An Effective Change
by Lexues Villafuerte
Imagine a candle in a room that has no light. In order for
the candle to be lighten, someone must ignite the flame. A candle only needs a
spark to lighten it. The candle is the change that when it ignites the flame,
the whole room will be enlighten. But to do this, someone must move.
Filipinos are known to be hospitable, lovable in our country,
courageous, and united. But if we try to look on the problems of our
government, where are those good traits of Filipinos? Our country is facing
many problems like in poverty, education and even in government system. But
these things couldn’t be changed if the country’s people will not change. We
all need to change. We Filipinos are known to be courageous, hardworking and
intelligent. But these traits will not be effective because we lack
self-disciplined, we only intend to do our own choice in life. We also lack of
initiatives. We always depend on our government. We never think of the better
ways on how to be an effective citizen of this country.
You need to change for ourselves. We know that
life is not easy at all. So what’s the problem? You always complain and
complain. You tend to say that you lack time where in we have a lot of time to
watch tv. You complain about you headaches where in you drink wine last night
it that’s why it makes you feel dizzy. The problem is in you. You never think
the reasons why you have this problem. You think that if the world changed,
what’s the use of changing ourselves? Know yourself and do your best to get what
you want. You are the one controlling yourself. Whatever a man thinks, he does.
So why don’t you think of changing yourself? Change how you act and live as if
you already have everything. Say thank you even for the smallest deeds. How can
you given more if you’re not contented with what you have? Be grateful in
everything you receive. Inspired others on what you’re doing and with that
changed in yourself is now beginning.
