To change the world, we must begin by changing ourselves.

To change the world, we must begin by changing ourselves.
by Russel De Guzman

Changing ourselves changes the world because we are all part of it. Change takes time, usually years, not weeks. It doesn’t matter how long it take, what’s at stake is your whole life. Only you can give your own life meaning you choose.

If we want to change ourselves, lip service will be eternally insufficient. We must act now, make our actions clear and unambiguous, and we must not allow ourselves to be influenced by our ego and the weaker, darker, fearful aspects of ourselves.

Support sincerely in enduring peace and therefore enduring peace must be founded upon the mental and moral solidarity of humankind. The biggest mistake you can make is to compare yourself to others. Comparing yourself to others is a losing battle, whether how much people make, how they spread their time, or what they achieve.

When we forsake our fears and indifference and embrace words of love, compassion and encouragement, we can bring peace, hope and comfort to friends and even to strangers halfway around the world. We can fan the spark of reason embedded in every heart at birth into a bright flame of understanding. When we bring out the best in others, we bring something greater than ourselves to the forefront which provides us with a unique perspective of our place in the universe. We must strive to discover our authenticity and mold all our actions such that we are ever moving forward towards our goals to transform ourselves.

You may never know what results come of your action, but if you do nothing there will be no result. To change ourselves takes a lot of work. It’s a lifelong process, but the journey is worth it.
